Due to climate change, the frequency and severity of wildfires are increasing worldwide.
🌲 Forest degradation caused by wildfires alone accounts for over 30% of global forest loss and deterioration.

🇲🇳🇲🇳 In Mongolia, more than 100,000 hectares of forest area were burned in a major wildfire in 2017, and wildfires continue to threaten the country's forest ecosystems today.

🇰🇷🇰🇷 With financial support from Yuhan Corporation of the Republic of Korea, the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO), the Forest Agency of Mongolia, and the Billion Trees NGO signed a quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding on September 8, 2025, to promote sustainable forest management through the “Forest Fire Rehabilitation Project.”
The project’s official launch took place on September 30, 2025, in Üdleg bag, Batsümber soum, Tuv province.

In Üdleg bag alone, around 3,000 hectares of forest land have been degraded by fire. Under this project, 36,000 trees will be planted on 15 hectares annually over five years to support recovery.
