A MAPLE TREE GROVE ESTABLISHED AT THE “CHINGGIS KHAAN” INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
In connection with the start of the tree planting and growing season, a tree planting event was organized on May 8, 2025, at the “Chinggis Khaan” International Airport. The event was initiated by the "Billion Trees" NGO with the goal of establishing a forest grove.
The establishment of the grove was supported by MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation. Dr. Gabriel Rik, Cultural and Scientific Attaché of the Embassy of Israel in Beijing, attended and participated in the event.
Since the 1950s, Israel has increased its forest coverage from just 2% to 8.5% of its territory through large-scale afforestation efforts. As a global leader in smart irrigation systems, Israel has successfully transformed desert lands into green belts.
The following organizations participated in the establishment of this grove:
"New Ulaanbaatar" International Airport LLC
Customs Office at Chinggis Khaan International Airport
Immigration Agency
Civil Aviation Police Department under the Transport Police
Border Military Unit No. 0218
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Forest Agency, the Water and Sewerage Authority of Ulaanbaatar city and the Honorary Consul of Israel provided support for the organization of this event.
